Card show in NEW ZEALAND

This guy and his son are organising a card show in NZ.
I'm 99% sure it is going to be basketball only lol

I told them I would help out in any way I could.

I have already donated a folder and some 9 pocket sleeves to be given away to the 10th person who turns up.

I have no clue what to expect so I'm bringing a monster box full of cards.
Trying to cover all kind of possible trading scenarios.

The guy tells me that there will be a few boxes and packs available.

I just wanted to ask you guys what should I expect?
Is there any tips/advice I can pass on to the organiser to make it a success?

We have never tried anything like this in NZ before.
Could just have the 3 people turn up lol

Would try to figure out what the people that might show up in that area collect which you said more than likely all basketball so I would try to make sure they have at least basic supplies, some singles (modern such as autos, GU, etc. and maybe a little vintage) and some wax to sell whether packs or boxes or whatever just to cover all the basis

Also post it up on OzCard with a door prize offer so maybe that will pull in a few extra people as I think there are at least a couple NZ guys on there

^ Also I wouldn't expect too much from any show until it is able to happen a few times on a regular basis and people start to hear about it

Thanks CBF - I don't think the guy had considered supplies.
I'll go into my spares stash.
A few packets of sleeves, some toploaders and some magnetics.
That should cover it yeah?

Yeah sleeves, loaders, magnetics, cover it for the most part... maybe even make a sign for email sign ups for news of the next possible show and a wants list for supply requests for future shows if anyone needs anything out of the ordinary and use the list for the giveaway have a sheet with #'s running 1 down to 50 or whatever and spot for name as well as email then put a box with room to list possible wants, etc. like mentioned above

Way to promote the show, give away prizes which causes word of mouth, and maybe move more stuff at the next get together

Then towards end of show draw #'s raffle style to see who on the list won

Also have a open table or two with chairs and encourage people to bring their own cards for trading, etc. it makes the time spent a little more fun for anyone that might show up and that also means potential repeats

Everyone turns up in their car in a big vacant lot (free)

Should be able to bring their cards in their car.

I don't wanna roll up in the family Mazda though lol
