Here's another TTM success for my 2005 Astros WS roster. Willy plays for the Sky Sox now and returned it pretty quickly.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to meet Hunter Pence at a FREE autograph session here in the Houston area. Reebok sponsored the event which was held at Academy Sports and Outdoors in The Woodlands. My girlfriend and I waited in the hot Texas sun for about 2.5-3.5 hours but it was worth it to meet Hunter as it was my first time to meet him. I was originally going to get a 2008 UD Goudey signed by him but then decided to buy an OMLB instead. Academy sells their OMLB's w/case for 11.99 opposed to the 15.99 I see at most other shops.
Here are a couple of pics and I apologize for the quality as they were taken from my iPhone.

Sweet sig there, Trey. Thanks for sharing the pics. I like those little stands inside the ballcube.
Yea I love the sig too. The cool thing was that he didn't just ignore you and sign. He actually talked to me a good 45 seconds to a minute about the upcoming Silver Boot series. What's sad to think about is that this might be my last chance to meet him as an Astro since there's a lot of talk about trading him for some younger guys. I hate this rebuilding junk but I'm sure it will pay off in the future. Let's hope it's all just rumors for now.
I know the following isn't baseball memorabilia but I didn't feel like clogging up the boards with a random thread for just one post. I'm a big fan of this show on the Travel Channel called, The Wild Within. It's a show about hunting mainly but not your typical outdoors channel hunting show. Anywho, the host of the show is Steve Rinella and I emailed him a few months ago about obtaining a TTM autograph of some sort. I got a reply a week or two ago saying thanks for watching and other stuff. I basically wrote off any success of getting an autograph right then. Fast forward to today... I'm checking my mail and I have a package but I'm not expecting any baseball cards so I was confused. Then I saw the name Rinella on the return address and just assumed it was a coincidence. I open the package to find this...
I couldn't believe he sent me a copy of his book and signed it!! This just helps to show how much of a great guy he really is. If you don't want the show you should definitely check it out whenever the next season starts. I wasn't big into hunting before watching but now I've got a different understanding of it. Sorry for the long post.
Went to Academy Sports + Outdoors yesterday here in The Woodlands to meet a few of my favorite young Astros. I got there early and was #22 in line but by the time the signing started the line hadn't grown too much. Since they were signing until 8:00 I had the chance to go through the line a second time which saved me a trip to Cypress today.
Here are the scans/pics of my pickups. I originally took pictures with my camera but couldn't find the cable to upload the photos so I used my iPhone instead, apologies for the quality of pics.

I'll be going to the Academy store in Katy tomorrow to pick up three more players (Jed Lowrie, Brett Wallace and Jason Castro). I love that the Astros give back to the fans with these free appearances. I know the names aren't big but it's still cool meeting big league players.
nice stuff there...i havent been to a show in a long time
Thought I'd show off some of the recent autographs I got. The first few are in-person and the last two are TTM.
I'm a huge Dierks Bentley fan and I finally got the chance to meet him at a show in San Antonio, which is only a 3.5 hour drive from my house. He was real nice and signed the cd cover I had brought with me.
That same weekend I got to meet some of the guys from PBR (Professional Bull Riding) at a local grocery store.
Finally, here are the two TTM returns I got this past week.
Jason Lane signed 2/2 (He's part of my 2005 Astros WS project)
Ty Murray signed 2/2 (Part of my PBR project)
Overall really excited to get all these autographs, especially Dierks Bentley who is my 2nd favorite country music artist, behind George Strait.
Nice stuff Trey! Thanks for letting us in on all your successes. I collect rodeo cards myself and love the Ty Murray's
Always looking for St Louis Cardinals Autos and Game Used cards
