I've posted this video before, but not sure if I had on this site or not, but well worth another looksie. It really opens your eyes as to what is really going on out there, and that you really need to be careful on what you buy. Educate yourself, and remember if it sounds like it's too good to be true, chances are it probably is.

Yeah i saw that before...absolutely sickening how much fake merchandise they peddled. For the people that collect on a serious or as a hobby you dont trust fly by night grading companies or COA's. If i was to get a card graded it would be probably be PSA or Beckett...not GAI or other non reputable brands. However people who are buying for others, new to the hobby, or not as smart could easily get hosed on fake merchandise...heck Nate can make his own cards lol. Nate, you still have the wiffleball card?

That quad auto from Upper Deck is what really makes me sick. That, and the fact that they may have bought fake hockey jerseys from a company who has recently been busted for selling fake game worn jerseys. How can you trust anyone anymore? It's not like they are gonna admit they may have purchased these, and used them on their GU cards. This along with fake patches popping up everywhere on high end rookie cards makes me not want to do this anymore. What's next? Are all my certified autos fake? At least I know all my signed 8X10's are real, as I was at the actual signings. People bitch, and moan at how expensive my buddy's store is for signed hockey stuff, but at least they are real. People just don't get it. They'd rather pay $20 for an auto, and hope it's real, rather than pay $40 for one that is the real deal. No wonder the whole scam was a huge success in that video. People are generally stupid.

If it's some mid level player the COA doesn't really matter to me as why fake a 5-10 piece.... and if I get duped I'll live with it. I wouldn't touch any spendy HOF pieces without one of the big 5 having authenticated it PSA, JSA, SGC, Steiner, field of dreams.... probably missed a few more trusted ones. Well over half of all that EBAY stuff by Jo Blow COAs is fake on the Bay.. some isn't, but not worth the risk in my opinion


What if your family tries to sell it when you croke or you need money........ every tom dick and harry are going to question the authenticity of a high end piece with a jo blow COA
