Who Watched "All Star Dealers" On Discovery?

Premiere show was tonight (1/24/12) on the Discovery Channel at 9 pm.

The sports memorabilia industry goes prime time later this month when Discovery Channel launches its new show "All Star Dealers", a reality-type show centered around the doings of Grey Flannel Auctions.

Premiering January 24 at 9 p.m. eastern time, the show bills itself as "SportsCenter meets CSI as the Grey Flannel team uses detailed investigation methods and state-of-the-art tools to determine what items are the real deal".
    Did anyone watch it?

I was watching one of them storage wars shows...and remembered Jim's post about the new show on ABC in March, but I remember clicking a link about the Discovery Channel's new show airing in January. Missed it by about 3 minutes!

Ok... so I'm watching the show. Something seems odd to me.

The guy goes off to look through Dennis Rodman's things, before going to meet him. When he meets him, he essentially says "hey rich guy, I've been going through your stuff, and would like to sell this." He even tried to press him to find out where the wedding dress is. Am I missing a step here somewhere? Do the stars approach him about selling things? I can't imagine it works how the show portrays where he just goes through their storage and picks things he thinks he can sell without them initiating the transaction.

Rodman even talked about always being able to get a new coat made, despite this one selling for less than it cost him.

Okay, DVR did not record, so watched the first episode on the internet.

    DISAPPOINTED!

I really thought the show would be more about sports memorabilia and less about "boy are we gonna make money on this!"

I swear, the whole time I was watching, I could hear Dave (Storage Wars) yelling "yuuuuuuuuuuuuuppppppppp!" everytime the guy talked about dollars.

Rodman's Wedding Dress...The "Holy Grail"??? What?

I hope the ABC Version does alot better.

Yeah, less than spectacular. Was cool to see Jimmy Spence doing the autograph authentications. And the other guy knew his stuff about jerseys. Man, Rodman has some stuff, eh?

I see this show wasn't popular enough to keep its time slot. It's not showing on a channel called "velocity". Yeah... it took me awhile to realize my dvr wasn't catching it anymore.
